RatMack was made up by Shaun one day while trying to figure out what he wanted to do with his truck.
Here's the five-cent tour... I am a 36 year-old single father of two girls and my name is Shaun. I come from an extremely blue collar family and I'm proud of it. My father was a heavy equipment operator, welder, painter... a could do anything kind of guy. His brother Leighton, my uncle who has lived with us all our lives, was also truck driver. I was influenced by this as a kid and drive a semi for a living. I always wanted my own rig but never had the chance until now. I bought a 1976 Mack R600 from a friend. It sat for a while and I was on the verge of selling it. I love this truck with all my heart and it was a rolling parts truck... then it hit me... I'll make it a rat rod!!! Now I'll have some fun with my kids and friends and dedicate all of this to my friends and family. I talked with some friends and they loved the idea so we went to work. I had a four week deadline for a car show party and thought it would be a great idea to reveal my idea on making this a rat rod. We completed 80 percent of it on time for to show my family and friends, whom most had no idea what we'd done. They loved it!!! With a lot of tears, I wish my dad was there for one day to see what we did.
Thanks to all the RAT RODERS for having such cool stuff and by giving me the inspiration to keep the truck in the barn... not outside the barn... I believe I hit a new chapter in rat rod mechanics.
